Breaking New Ground: Insights from Clearly Local’s AM2024 Conferences

Our Annual Meeting 2024 (AM2024), set against the scenic backdrop of Ningbo, Zhejiang, brought together Clearly Local’s international team for an inspiring exchange of ideas and strategies. Themed around Content 360, this year’s conference underscored our dedication to delivering comprehensive content solutions tailored to evolving client needs. The event was rich with insights, each session contributing to our forward-looking approach as we enter 2025 with renewed purpose.

Led by Managing Director Philippe Cao, the opening session introduced Clearly Local’s Content 360 strategy – a comprehensive approach designed to position Clearly Local as a true partner for clients across every content need. This forward-looking vision aims to deepen client relationships and set us apart from traditional LSPs by going beyond mere text content to address all facets of content creation, localization, and quality assurance, ensuring that Clearly Local is a one-stop content solution.

Philippe’s insights set the stage for the entire conference, inspiring us to align our efforts and anticipate the shifting landscape of global content to enable companies to engage with their customers and users on a more personal level. With Content 360 as our guiding strategy, Clearly Local is ready to deliver powerful, tailored content solutions across every platform and medium.

One of the conference’s standout sessions was delivered by Alma Gomez, Community Director, who shared her expertise on maintaining effective communication even in tense or high-stress scenarios, which are increasingly common during any industry’s transformation period. Alma’s actionable strategies – from active listening to clear message structuring – provided the team with invaluable tools to enhance internal and client interactions, focusing on communication goals and outcomes. Her approach aligns perfectly with Clearly Local’s commitment to transparent, client-centered communication as part of our Content 360 framework.

Gene Gao, Localization Engineer Lead, delivered a practical session titled What It Takes to Be on Top of Everything, where he emphasized strategies for managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-quality industry. Gene shared actionable insights, including setting dedicated times on one’s calendar and sticking to them, prioritizing tasks before scheduling, and creating buffers for emergencies or urgent needs. His approach underscored the importance of structured time management to stay agile and responsive, a key aspect of Clearly Local’s commitment to excellence as part of our Content 360 approach. Gene’s guidance offered the team valuable tools to ensure consistent, high-quality results for our clients.

In a session focused on growth, Julie Wang, Customer Success Manager, presented innovative approaches for expanding our service offerings to meet evolving client demands. Julie and her team have been at the forefront of Clearly Local service transformation, pivoting from a “text translation offering” to multi-medium and platform content solutions deployed under Clearly Local’s Expanding Possibilities program. Her talk inspired our team to think beyond traditional boundaries, emphasizing adaptability and a proactive approach to identifying client needs. Her insights are a practical guide for how Content 360 can enable Clearly Local to explore new avenues while staying aligned with client expectations.

Miklós Urbán, Senior Enterprise Solution Architect at Phrase, captivated the team with a deep dive into AI and hyperautomation. His session highlighted the potential for AI to streamline workflows, reduce project timelines, and uphold quality—a crucial element of Clearly Local’s Content 360 approach. Miklos’s insights sparked excitement within the team as we explored new ways to integrate AI tools that enhance both efficiency and impact.

Language Expert Violet Senderai brought fresh perspectives on using large language models (LLMs) in localization, demonstrating how AI-human integration can scale and improve global content quality. Violet’s examples highlighted how AI complements human expertise to deliver nuanced, culturally attuned content. Her insights seamlessly align with our Content 360 commitment to embracing innovative solutions that integrate seamlessly with our customers’ requirements.

In a dynamic session on the gaming industry, NetEase Games’ Build and Release Manager, Nurullah Morshed, provided a look into the intersection of AI, machine learning, and gaming. His talk offered a unique perspective on how these tools reshape game localization, inspiring Clearly Local’s team to think creatively about our role in this rapidly evolving field. The gaming industry’s embrace of AI is a testament to the exciting, boundless potential of Content 360, which fosters an innovative approach in every company department.

Clearly Local’s AM2024 was a powerful reminder of the expertise and forward-thinking that define our team. The discussions and strategies shared reinforced our Content 360 vision, equipping us to meet the demands of an expanding, globalized world. As we turn these insights into actionable steps, Clearly Local is ready to continue leading content localization, with 2025 promising new growth, innovation, and success.
